John Stillwell & Nancy Brown



We have found new information which, we believe, has broken down our brick wall. Our John was born in Kentucky. We believe his line is first found in Nelson County, moved to Shelby Co., and then to Jefferson Co. Our John's parents then moved to Parke Co., IN. We now believe that this is the line before John:

John Stilwell m. Abigail Reed (This family lived on Elk Creek and then Plumb Creek, Shelby Co.)

  • John Jr. b. abt 1787 m. Eleanor Black 11 Nov 1808 Shelby Co.
  • Daniel b. abt 1789 m. Elizabeth Mitchell
  • Thomas b. abt 1799 m. Nancy Coons 2 Mar 1820 Shepherdsville, Bullitt Co., KY. Shepherdsville was the closest town to Plumb Creek.
  • Daughter m. ?

    • Thomas died around 1833. Nancy remarried Alexander Russel. In the 1850 census, John and Nancy & Alexander and Nancy were all living in Crawford Co., Ar.
